Sierra Leone and Cameroon have been approved to represent the African group to monitor the implementation of the Standing Committee for Information and Civic Education (COMIAC).
The resolution was taken on Monday, 17th, October, at the Senior Officials Preparatory session convened at the King Fahd Hotel in Dakar, Senegal.
This is ahead of the ministerial session tomorrow, 17th October, of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC).
The Managing Director of the Sierra Leone News Agency (SLENA), Ms Yeama Sarah Thompson, and the Chief Technical Adviser to the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Ms. Nadia Assad represented Sierra Leone at the Senior Officials Preparatory Meetings.
The technical committees deliberated on activity reports of the OIC General Secretariat and OIC institutions in the fields of information, culture, dialogue of civilizations, tourism, and youth.
The Senior Officials of the OIC countries presented adopted recommendations and resolutions to strengthen cooperation and solidarity among OIC Member States.
The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernoh Bah, will lead the discussions on Sierra Leone at the ministerial meetings.
