FREETOWN – The All Peoples Congress (APC) has announced a new date for its outstanding Constituency 044 election.
In a Public Notice dated 3rd October 2026, the party’s National Secretariat said the election will now take place on Wednesday, 7th October 2026.
The notice, issued from the party’s headquarters at We Yone House, Old Railway Line, Freetown, informed all party members, aspirants, delegates, election officials, stakeholders and the general public about the development.
According to the Secretariat, the election will be held at the APC Bombali Regional Office in Makeni.
The decision on the date and venue followed consultations between the National Secretariat and the party’s Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC).
The IEMC, which is responsible for conducting all internal elections of the APC, proposed the Bombali Regional Office as a secure and neutral venue where the election can be conducted in a free, fair, orderly and peaceful manner.
The Secretariat stated that the IEMC has consulted all parties directly involved in the Constituency 044 process, including the contestants, and all have agreed to proceed to Makeni.
All aspirants, delegates, party officials and stakeholders concerned have been asked to assemble at the designated venue on the stated date.
The National Secretariat also appealed for restraint, calling on all candidates and their supporters to ensure the process is free from violence, intimidation, threats and disruption.
Constituency 044 is one of the constituencies where the APC’s lower-level elections were left outstanding. The party is rounding up its constituency and other grassroots elections as part of preparations for its National Delegates Conference ahead of the 2028 general elections.
