Rokel Community, Kissy Division – In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, OSD Officer PC 16114 Augustine Kanja, a former security detail for the then Inspector General of Police, Mr. Richard Moigbeh, was brutally attacked and stabbed in the back on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
The alleged assailants, identified as Alpha Kamara, Abu Kamara, and Samba Kamara, all hailing from Maroute village in Rokel, are now on the run.
The attack left Officer Augustine Kanja with a deep cut on his back. The incident was reported to the Rokel police post at approximately 00:45 hours on the same day, and investigations are currently underway.
DPC 14088 Conteh A. B., an experienced investigator attached to the CID department in Rokel, is leading the investigation under the supervision of the dedicated O/C of the post, Supt. Kalokoh. See photos of the victim for more details on this developing story.
In another significant development on the same day, Sunday, September 10, 2023, at around 07:45 hours, personnel from across the entire Kissy Division gathered in front of the Administrative building at the Kissy Divisional headquarters. This gathering was in preparation for a deployment following a night of standfast duties.
Photographic evidence captures LUC CSP Sao Vandy, along with his key officers, Supt. Unisa Turay (support officer) and Operations Officer Supt. John S. Koroma, actively coordinating the deployment of personnel. Checkpoints throughout the Kissy Division have been reinforced with additional personnel from both the OSD and RSLAF.
Despite the increased security measures, patrolling is underway with no major issues to report at this time. Stay tuned for more updates on this situation.
