Bo, 14 October 2025 — Police in Bo City have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, following a major interception at the Gelehun Checkpoint along the Bo–Koribondo Highway, en route to the Mano River.
Abdul Karim Kamara, a resident of Magbama Village near Mile 91, was arrested at approximately 10:00 p.m. while travelling in a taxi bearing registration number AUX 971. During a routine search of the vehicle, officers discovered a substantial quantity of suspected illegal substances.
The seizure included:
Sixteen (16) full rice bags
Four (4) half rice bags
Ten (10) parcels containing dried leaves believed to be Cannabis Sativa
Kamara was immediately taken into custody, and both the suspect and the confiscated items were transported to the Regional Police Headquarters in Bo.
The Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) has since taken over the investigation and is currently conducting further inquiries.
