Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have announced a major breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of journalist Samuel Brima Mattia.
Joseph M. Lamin, Station Manager of VOPAD Radio 96.5FM, has been arrested after reportedly confessing to masterminding the killing of his deputy, Samuel Brima Mattia.
According to police sources, Lamin allegedly hired individuals, including a suspect identified as Morlai, to carry out the murder.
The police have also apprehended the alleged hired killers, who are said to be cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has lauded the swift actions of the police and emphasized the importance of ensuring justice.
In a statement, SLAJ reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitoring the case and advocating for accountability.
