Mattru Jong, 22 August 2025 — Police in Mattru Jong have arrested a man on suspicion of impersonating a police officer.
According to the Operations Officer of Bonthe Division, Chief Inspector Mohamed Sheriff, the suspect, identified as Mark Anthoney of 28 Hindowa Street, Bo No. 2, Bo City, was apprehended at the main lorry park in Mattru Jong on Thursday, 21 August 2025.
He was found wearing a full Police uniform and allegedly presenting himself as a serving officer.
During questioning, the suspect claimed to be employed by a private security company which he referred to as the Sierra Leone Police Security Agency, said to be based along the Bo–Kenema Highway in Bo City and allegedly overseen by one Mr Abdul Lumeh.
The suspect is currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
