BO CITY — In a remarkable display of community spirit, the citizens of Bo City rallied together with the Bo City Council to execute a comprehensive citywide cleaning initiative.
The event, organized and mandated by the Bo City Council, witnessed an impressive turnout as various groups, including Bo Rangers Queens, Soja Team, Forever Green, Parliament, Kortigbuma Youths, and Friends of Kobba, actively participated in rejuvenating the city’s appearance.
While numerous participants concentrated on cleansing the streets and communal spaces, others dedicated their efforts to tidying their residences and commercial establishments.
Speaking to the media, representatives of youth organizations affirmed that their involvement in the cleanup stemmed from a sense of responsibility towards maintaining the city’s cleanliness for the collective benefit of all residents. Local communities echoed their enthusiasm, lauding the revival of the Monthly General Cleaning day initiative, a cherished city tradition eagerly anticipated by its inhabitants.
“We have persistently advocated for the reinstatement of this program by the council, and now that it’s back, we welcome it wholeheartedly, extending our utmost support,” remarked Evelyn Kornya Turay, a dedicated resident, in conversation with AYV’s George Philip Jambawai.
Addressing the significance of the Monthly General Cleaning campaign, Henry Powell, Deputy Chief Administrator of the Bo City Council, emphasized the overarching goal of fostering a hygienic and thriving urban environment. Bo City’s Mayor, Kobba Musa, renowned for his fervent commitment to maintaining the city’s pristine condition, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the enthusiastic participants of the cleanup effort.
“Your unwavering dedication to this event and your resolute commitment to upholding the cleanliness of our city are deeply appreciated,” affirmed the Mayor.
Going forward, the Monthly General Cleaning initiative is scheduled to occur on the last Saturday of every month. This commitment to regular cleaning underscores the collective determination of Bo City’s inhabitants and their local authorities to cultivate a clean and healthy living environment for all.
