The University of Sierra Leone has announced that its online application portal for the 2026/2027 academic session will open on Monday, 3 August 2026.
The portal will accept applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes tenable at Fourah Bay College (FBC), the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS), and the School of Postgraduate Studies.
In addition, prospective students can apply for the University’s eLearning Master’s programmes in Business Administration, Journalism & Media Studies, Communication & Development Studies, and Public Relations & Marketing Communication.
Application-processing fees are set at Le 500.00 for undergraduate courses and Le 600.00 for postgraduate courses. Payments can be made at Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Commerce and Mortgage Bank (CMB), Rokel Commercial Bank, and Access Bank in Freetown or at any of their regional branches.
Applicants must enter the National Identification Number (NIN) from their national ID cards on the application form. Those who fail to do so will be unable to complete the process.
The University advises all prospective applicants to visit its official website, www.usl.edu.sl, for detailed entry requirements into the various colleges, programmes, faculties, and departments. Candidates awaiting publication of their WASSCE results are also eligible to apply.
The deadline for purchasing application PINs from the banks is Friday, 11 September 2026. All undergraduate applications must be submitted by Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
The University also clarified that its Diploma and Certificate courses are terminal programmes. Holders of these qualifications who wish to apply for degree programmes must meet the institution’s minimum entry requirements.
