Sierra Leone Police Dismisses 24 Officers 

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has terminated the employment of 24 officers for unauthorized prolonged absence from duty.

The action comes after the officers were found to have violated Section 26(1) of the Police Disciplinary Regulations 2001, which prohibits being absent from work for over 21 days without official leave.

In a public notice date 25 September 2024, the SLP confirmed that the dismissed officers had failed to report to duty for an extended period, prompting the force to take disciplinary measures.

As part of the dismissal process, the officers are required to return all police-issued equipment, including appointment certificates, firearms, ammunition, and identification badges.

The names of the officers, their ranks, and assigned divisions are listed below:
