Freetown, Sierra Leone – July 6, 2025 – Portuguese head coach Flavio Silva has announced his resignation from Luawa Football Club with immediate effect, bringing his tenure to an abrupt end due to personal reasons.
In an emotional message shared on Sunday, Silva stated, “For personal reasons, I had to abandon the Luawa FC project.”
He thanked the club’s management and expressed deep appreciation for the support he received during his time at the helm.
“To the president, I would like to express my gratitude for everything he did for me,” Silva said. “To my players, incredible evolution—thank you very much.”
Silva, who took charge of Luawa FC with the vision of building a competitive squad, leaves behind a team praised for its growth and development under his leadership.
“We have done and will continue to do an excellent job. One day I will return,” he added.
His departure comes at a critical stage as Luawa FC prepares for upcoming fixtures in the Sierra Leone Premier League. The club has yet to release an official statement regarding a replacement.
