Freetown, Sierra Leone – July 6, 2025 – Popular entertainment mogul and businessman Kabaka has finally addressed the ongoing public debate surrounding Chapter One nightclub — and his message is striking a chord across Sierra Leone’s social media landscape.
In a no-holds-barred statement, Kabaka took aim at critics who have slammed the club’s premium pricing, saying the outrage reveals more about people’s mindset than the business itself.
“Some of you are upset that a VIP club has VIP prices, yet you won’t even support the affordable spots,” he said. “If your heart cuts when you see the drink list, maybe you’re still at Liberia Bar level — and that’s okay. Just own it and work your way up.”
Kabaka emphasized that luxury experiences will naturally come at a higher cost, urging the public to stop tearing down what others have built.
“Stop dragging what you didn’t build,” he warned. “Poverty shouldn’t be the standard.”
His remarks come amid heated discussions on social media, where some have accused Chapter One of being elitist and inaccessible. But Kabaka challenged that view, noting that many Sierra Leoneans living abroad cannot afford certain international hotels or restaurants — yet don’t complain about them.
“Why is it only in Sierra Leone that success becomes a problem?” he questioned. “This is bigger than just a club — it’s a mindset issue. We need to stop fighting big dreams just because they don’t look familiar.”
Kabaka called on citizens to be inspired rather than envious, urging them to celebrate ambition and innovation: “Dream big. Build yours. And clap for those who dared to go first.”
His comments have sparked fresh conversations about aspiration, class, and economic growth in Sierra Leone — and for many, a much-needed reminder that progress often begins with perspective.
