Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, has announced updated progression criteria for first-year students, emphasizing a no-repeat policy for the academic year.
During Orientation Day, the Deputy Vice Chancellor highlighted that students must meet specific requirements to advance to Year 2, stressing the importance of adhering to these new regulations.
According to the new rules, first-year students will not be permitted to repeat Year 1.
Additionally, no student will be allowed to progress to Year 2 if they have any outstanding references. Students who are referred in no more than two modules will have the opportunity to sit for re-sit examinations. Those who successfully clear their referred modules will be eligible to progress to the next academic year.
However, students who fail to pass the re-sit examinations will face withdrawal from both their course and the College.
The administration urges all students to take this information seriously and strive to meet the academic standards required for progression.
This policy aims to uphold the academic integrity of the institution and ensure that students maintain a high level of performance throughout their studies.
