Freetown, August 29, 2024 – The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has announced that it will begin the production of new driver’s licenses effective September 2, 2024.
The public and all customers are encouraged to visit SLRSA offices nationwide or contact their customer care services for further assistance.

Earlier this year, in April, the SLRSA increased the fees for various categories of driver’s licenses.
The updated tariff includes a significant hike in fees: Private Driver’s Licenses have increased from Le 400,000 to Le 1,500,000, and Van Driver’s Licenses have risen from Le 410,000 to Le 1,600,000.
Bus drivers will now pay Le 700,000, up from the previous Le 470,000. Licenses for Bikes and Private Cars have jumped from Le 420,000 to Le 2,000,000, while Car, Jeep, and Van owners will now pay Le 2,100,000, previously set at Le 450,000.
Licenses for Car Van Bus Truck and Tractors have seen the most substantial increase, now costing Le 3,000,000, up from Le 630,000.
The SLRSA urges all drivers to comply with the new regulations and secure their updated licenses promptly.
