Freetown, Sierra Leone – President Julius Maada Bio joined Muslims in Sierra Leone in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The President attended prayers at the Presidential State Lodge, where he extended his warm wishes to the Muslim community and emphasized the importance of unity and religious harmony in the country.
Taking to social media after the prayers, President Bio stated, “Our Muslim community has reached an incredible milestone in their faith as Muslims! Happy Eid-ul-Fitr! As we celebrate the culmination of this year’s holy month of Ramadan, let’s seek Allah’s blessings and peace to be with us always. From my family to yours, Eid Mubarak!”
The Eid prayer at the Presidential State Lodge was a demonstration of political tolerance and national cohesion. Notably, former Vice President Chief Sam Sumana joined President Bio and other government officials to observe the prayers, highlighting the spirit of togetherness that has been a hallmark of Sierra Leone’s diverse religious landscape.
