Rhe government has in a public notice issued today announced a significant hike in work permit fees for non-citizens, effective from the year 2024.
This decision comes after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including the Sierra Leone Labour Congress and Sierra Leone Employers Federation.
“Following comparative studies in the sub-region and approval by Cabinet, we have decided to increase work permit fees to address various considerations,” stated a representative from the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security.
It is crucial to note that this fee adjustment will impact sector categorization, leading to changes that are expected to resonate across various industries.
Both formal and informal organizations are urged to fully cooperate with the forthcoming adjustments.
For individuals seeking additional information or clarification, the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security can be contacted at their headquarters in New England Ville, Freetown.
