Freetown, October 13, 2025 — Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has announced a series of new appointments to strengthen leadership within Sierra Leone’s water and energy regulatory institutions.
The appointments, which are subject to parliamentary approval where required, were officially confirmed in a State House notice issued on Monday.
The new appointees include:
* Ing. Mariwan Kallon, who has been named Managing Director of the Guma Valley Water Company.
* Mr. Festus Kallay, appointed as Director General of the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission.
* Ing. Tiideni Hawa Jabbi, selected as Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO).
* Ing. Pierre Palmer, who will now serve as Director General of the National Water Resources Management Agency.
The appointments are part of the government’s broader strategy to improve efficiency, expand access, and ensure sustainable management of water and electricity services across the country.
