In a significant breakthrough, Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh, the Regional Police Commander-South, has masterfully orchestrated the arrest of a highly sought-after individual connected to recent disturbances in Freetown.
The apprehended suspect, identified as retired private soldier Sheku Conteh with force number 18172429, had managed to evade authorities since the upheavals in Freetown’s Jendema/Mano River Division.
Acting on a tip from a concerned citizen, law enforcement successfully tracked and detained Conteh during daylight hours.
AIG Kanneh praised his officers for their swift and coordinated efforts, citing meticulous tracking and substantial evidence accumulation leading to the issuance of a warrant for Conteh’s arrest.
The arrest was executed without any untoward incident, as law enforcement officers cornered and detained the wanted individual in the South.
Currently in police custody, Conteh is facing charges related to alleged crimes during the earlier disturbances in Freetown.
The ongoing investigation, spearheaded by the Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) South, aims to unravel further details surrounding Conteh’s suspected criminal activities.
This successful operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the Southern Region’s law enforcement to uphold community safety and security. It reinforces the message that, regardless of how long an individual evades capture, the police persist in their relentless pursuit of justice.
