Kono, Sierra Leone – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Regional Office in Kono has made a major discovery, uncovering thirteen (13) cartons of Free Health Care drugs secretly stashed in a male restroom at the Koidu Government Hospital.
The discovery was made following a tip-off from a whistleblower. Acting on the intelligence, the ACC’s Regional Investigation Unit swiftly conducted a targeted operation at the hospital, leading to the shocking revelation of the drugs concealed in an unsanitary and inappropriate location.
Authorities have confirmed that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. They are currently in custody and assisting with further investigations.
The ACC emphasized its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the management and distribution of Free Health Care drugs, which are intended to support pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under five.
The Commission vowed to intensify monitoring efforts to prevent further misuse of these critical medical supplies.
