As part of the usual intensive search of vehicles, motorbikes, pedestrians, and other road users conducted at the Gbesseh Police Checkpoint by Inspector Ibrahim Tarawalie of Mayawloh Police Post, one Aminata Samura of Bandafaya village, Kono District was arrested on Thursday, 9th May 2024.
The arrest was made in accordance with the directives of the Regional Police Commander, AIG Aiah Edward Samadia, as part of the ongoing efforts to combat crime, lawlessness, and the use of illicit drugs such as Cannabis Sativa (jamba), Tramadol, and Kush in the township of Makeni and the region.
Aminata Samura was arrested while on board a commercial vehicle with registration number AQA 615, with five cement bags of dry leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa without legal authority.
The suspect, along with the exhibits and the driver, were taken to the Rogbaneh Police Station in Makeni for further investigation at the criminal investigation department.
