In a significant step towards promoting peace and stability in Sierra Leone, the United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), unveiled a groundbreaking $2.2 million peacebuilding project on September 28th.
The project is designed to combat politically motivated violence by fostering people-to-people peacebuilding initiatives across five districts in Sierra Leone.
Trócaire Sierra Leone has been entrusted with the implementation of this three-year endeavor.
The primary objective of this initiative is to empower women and youth, enabling them to emerge as leaders and active contributors to the consolidation of peace, both at the local and national levels.
