The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has announced a strict ban on street and indiscriminate parking along the Lumley and Aberdeen Beach corridors.
According to the Authority, the directive is in line with the Road Traffic Regulations of 2011 and forms part of ongoing measures to improve traffic flow, promote road safety and eliminate obstructions along the busy coastal recreational routes.
To ease compliance, SLRSA said designated and secure parking spaces have been provided in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Police and the Joint Traffic Management Team.
The approved parking locations are CSE near Family Kingdom, Papa Chef, Gigibonta, the car wash near Chapter One, and Kallon Car Park, all of which will have security personnel on duty.
The Authority warned that vehicles parked outside these designated areas risk being towed, noting that regular patrols will be carried out by its towing teams across the Lumley and Aberdeen Beach zones.
SLRSA has appealed to motorists and beach users to comply with the new parking arrangements, stressing that the move is in the wider interest of public safety, orderly traffic management and convenience for all road users.
