Freetown, August 13, 2024 – The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) has responded to recent reports suggesting that the prize money for the league champions and runner-up has not been disbursed.
In a press release issued today, the board assured the public that the process is in its final stages.
“We are in the final stages of disbursing the money allocated to the League champions, as well as the runner-up,” stated Sampha Hassan Kamara, Secretary of the PLB in the release.
He emphasized that the board is fully committed to ensuring the funds reach the deserving clubs as soon as possible.
Kamara acknowledged the frustration caused by the delays and offered an apology on behalf of the board.
“We understand that these delays can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused,” he said.
The PLB also urged the clubs involved to remain patient during this time. “We are fully dedicated to ensuring that the funds are distributed to the deserving clubs as quickly as possible,” Kamara reassured.
The board expressed gratitude to the public and the clubs for their understanding and ongoing support.
