Kono, Sierra Leone – The National Public Health Agency (NPHA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) have announced that all 290 individuals identified as contacts of a suspected Viral Haemorrhagic Fever (VHF) case in Kono have successfully completed the 21-day observation period without displaying any signs or symptoms of the illness.
In addition, contacts from the Western Area have undergone 11 days of monitoring without any symptoms emerging. These individuals will continue to be observed for the remaining days of the 21-day period as a precautionary measure.
The NPHA and MOH reaffirm their commitment to protecting public health and responding to potential disease outbreaks swiftly and effectively.
