As part of its on-the-spot coaching exercises, the Training Directorate has been engaging personnel at various formations.
The Director of Training, ACP Esther Mary Kaintor-Dukuray, and Head of Training, DSP Alpha Kamara, spoke to personnel at the Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA), Central Police Station, Police Communications, Garment Factory, and Police Hospital.
In one of these sessions, ACP Esther M.K. Dukuray stressed the importance of setting achievable goals and being committed to one’s job. She warned that even one unprofessional act by a police officer could negatively influence public perception of the police.
Personnel were cautioned to be aware of how easily unprofessional conduct can be captured using various devices and to maintain a professional image in their daily activities.
Female Inspector Wins ‘Best Inter-Agency Award’ in Junior Staff Course.
Inspector Aminata Linda Kamara from the Criminal Investigations Department has won the ‘Best Inter-Agency Student’ award in the Junior Staff Course (JSC) at Horton Academy. The JSC is an annual course for junior officers from various security agencies in Sierra Leone and neighboring countries.
The course covers topics such as staff functions, leadership, command responsibilities, security management, and contemporary matters. Completing this course is a fundamental requirement for promotion for some agencies.
Inspector Kamara’s achievement is a testament to her hard work and dedication. She has inspired other female officers who may think they cannot excel in a competitive environment dominated by men.
