Bumpeh Town, Kono District – A tragic incident on Sunday, February 16, 2025, claimed the lives of four young men in Bumpeh Town, Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District.
The victims were found dead inside a community well after an apparent accident during a routine cleanup operation.
According to sources, the men were engaged in a community service initiative to clean the well, which is frequently used by residents. Two of them had entered the well to manage the nozzle and sucker of a pumping machine, while the other two remained outside to oversee the operation.

The Motema Police Division, led by CSP Augustine Kabia, swiftly responded to the scene. Authorities retrieved the bodies, took photographic evidence, and transported the remains to Koidu Government Hospital for examination. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
