In an effort to strengthen cooperation and promote intellectual exchange, the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone has extended a gracious invitation to 25 members of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).
These personnel have been offered the opportunity to participate in an extensive month-long seminar focused on enhancing security cooperation between the SLP and China.
Mr. Shusen Xu, the emissary representing the Chinese Embassy, sent a formal invitation to Mr. William Fayia Sellu, the Inspector General of Police.
Mr. Xu underscored the robust and amicable relationship that exists between the Chinese Embassy and the Sierra Leone Police. He further emphasized the embassy’s dedication to bolstering the SLP’s capabilities through a diverse array of training programs in China. This includes plans for establishing a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory, which will greatly benefit law enforcement efforts in Sierra Leone.
Expressing his gratitude for this strategic initiative, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sellu, expressed his hope for additional training opportunities once the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.
The comprehensive seminar will encompass a wide range of policing topics, including police command systems, trends in transnational crime, anti-terrorism strategies, the management of mass incidents, information-led policing, cyber security, crime prevention strategies, and self-defense techniques.
The overarching objective is to foster collaboration and enhance law enforcement practices through cooperative efforts between Sierra Leone and China.
