Freetown, Sierra Leone – August 7, 2025 – The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), through the National Commission for Basic Education, has officially announced the nationwide schedule for the 2025 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) placement admission interviews.
According to the public notice issued, all interviews for admission into Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) will take place between Monday, August 18 and Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The Ministry is calling on all JSS principals across the country to adhere to the following directives:
1. Submit their confirmed interview dates and times to the Basic Education Secretariat immediately after the NPSE placement meeting.
2. Provide a full list of the members serving on their school’s interview committee.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of full cooperation from all school heads, parents, and pupils to ensure a smooth and timely admission process.
This announcement forms part of ongoing efforts by the Government of Sierra Leone to enhance transparency and efficiency in the transition from primary to junior secondary education.
