In a poignant testimony during the ongoing Court Martial hearing at Cockeril Headquarters on April 5th, 2024, Major General Dauda Alpha, Commander of the Joint Force, recounted the harrowing events of the November 26th, 2023 attack on military installations in Freetown.
General Alpha detailed the tragic loss of his close protection officer, Sergeant Marrah, who was mercilessly beheaded by assailants in an RPG attack on his vehicle, leaving behind a grieving wife and four-month-old baby.
Providing insight into his extensive military background spanning 33 years of service with the Armed Forces of Sierra Leone, General Alpha spoke of his current role supervising the conduct of officers within the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and facilitating logistical support and capacity training domestically and internationally.
During his testimony, General Alpha identified Lieutenant Colonel C.A.M Yamba, the seventeenth accused, who served as the Commanding Officer at Five Battalion Wilberforce.
As the Court Martial hearing prepares to reconvene today, the nation awaits further revelations and justice for the fallen soldiers.
