Freetown, Sierra Leone – April 30, 2026 – Sierra Leone’s President Brigadier Julius Maada Bio has appointed Abubakarr S. Turay also know as “Shady Baby” as the new Peace Ambassador of Sierra Leone, replacing controversial rapper Alhaji Amadu Bah also known as “Boss LAJ”.
The appointment was announced today through an official Public Notice issued by the Office of the President at State House. The notice, signed by Barba B. Fortune, Secretary to the President, stated that it has pleased the President to make the appointment, subject to the approval of Parliament where applicable.
This latest appointment forms part of a series of key nominations by President Bio, which also include Mr. Ahmed Saybom Kanu as Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, and Mr. Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq. as Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

Focus on the Peace Ambassador Role
The position of Peace Ambassador is a high-level appointment aimed at promoting national unity, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence across Sierra Leone.
