A 41-year-old Sierra Leonean, Joseph Bockarie, has been arrested by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) at the Tienii Checkpoint in Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia.
LDEA officers say they discovered 37 boxes of Tapentadol/Tramadol hidden inside a blue Mazda5 vehicle with Sierra Leone registration BAB-948.
The seized drugs are valued at approximately LRD$925,000 (about USD$5,138). Authorities have charged Bockarie under Sections 14.85 and 14.89 of Liberia’s Drug Law.
He is expected to appear in court on 4 August 2026.
The case is before the Liberian courts, and the suspect remains entitled to due process under Liberian law.
