A major crackdown on drug peddling in Freetown led to the arrest of 15 individuals and the seizure of a large consignment of assorted drugs.
The operation was carried out by the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone (PBSL) in collaboration with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), the Operational Support Division of Police (OSD), and the Sierra Leone Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
The joint team targeted strategic areas, including PZ vicinity, Lumley, Funkia, Angola Town, Sackville Street, Guard Street, Eastern Police vicinity, and Dan Street.
The arrests were part of a broader strategy to combat drug peddling and ensure public safety.
Tamba Buffa, Officer in Charge of the Distribution Chain Inspection Department at PBSL, emphasized that these raids are part of an ongoing national effort to curb illegal drug activities.
He warned that those arrested would face the full force of the law, serving as a deterrent to others involved in similar activities.
