The United States Military has concluded an intensive month-long training program designed to boost the logistics, sustainment, and lifesaving capabilities of 71 personnel from the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
This specialized training aims to enhance the RSLAF’s operational proficiency, particularly in logistics and maintenance, as they prepare for the operational handover of a U.S.-funded military depot at the RSLAF Maritime Wing in Murray Town.
This initiative underscores the robust partnership between the United States and Sierra Leone, focusing on strengthening military skills and readiness. Through this program, the U.S. seeks to empower the RSLAF with modernized techniques essential for maintaining effective logistics and operational continuity.
At the program’s conclusion, U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Jared Yancey praised the collaboration, highlighting its significance.
“This iteration of the training partnership has been particularly groundbreaking, introducing modern methods of professional military education tailored to the unique environment and doctrine of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces,” Yancey noted.
He emphasized the value of mutual learning, saying it fosters a beneficial exchange of ideas for logistics operations, sustainment, and combat lifesaving skills.
