Freetown, Sierra Leone – June 2, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) has postponed its Annual General Meeting (AGM), originally scheduled for June 5 and 6, 2026.
In a General Notice dated June 1, 2026, the association stated that the meeting has been deferred to a new date that will be communicated in due course.
The notice, issued under Section 185(1) of the Companies Act No. 5 of 2009 (as amended), Articles 11 and 30(a) of the SLBA’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, and a members’ resolution from February 2022, cited logistical and other challenges beyond the control of the Directors as the reason for the postponement.
The SLBA apologised for any inconvenience the change may cause and thanked members for their understanding.
Additionally, the notice indicated that the Treasurer will use the period to verify payments and reconcile records with the bank to determine the eligibility of fully paid-up members.
The notice was signed by Alfred Paul Juwah, Esq., General Secretary of the SLBA.
