The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, has departed Freetown on his first official international assignment since assuming office.
Accompanied by the Acting General Secretary, Mr. Mohamed Benson Bawoh, he will attend the CAF IMPACT Strategic Roundtable Programme scheduled for Sunday, 24 August 2025, in Kampala, Uganda.
While Mr. Bawoh will return immediately after the event, President Kamara will continue with further international engagements.
The Roundtable will focus on the implementation of CAF’s flagship IMPACT regulations, which seek to strengthen governance, improve infrastructure, and ensure the effective use of development funds across member associations.
During his stay in Uganda, President Kamara will also attend the semi-final and third-place matches of the ongoing TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
In Nairobi, he will join CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and other African football leaders for a high-level strategic meeting on Saturday, 30 August 2025, coinciding with the CHAN final.
The discussions will center on initiatives for financial sustainability of the 54 CAF Member Associations, upgrading football infrastructure across the continent, and strategies to make African football more globally competitive.
His participation, the SLFA noted, marks a milestone in Sierra Leone’s football leadership and an opportunity to strengthen international football relations under CAF’s new development agenda.
