In a decisive blow against drug trafficking, the Harbour Police Division executed a strategic raid resulting in the arrest of 52-year-old Momoh Mansaray, a notorious drug kingpin, and his main sales agent, Alex Kargbo, 28, in the bustling Kola Tick community of East-end Freetown.
The operation, fueled by community collaboration and intelligence gathering, targeted Mansaray’s illicit empire, which had wreaked havoc on families affected by the deadly Kush drug. Additionally, quantities of Kush and Cannabis Sativa were seized during the arrests.
The crackdown extended to several other ghettos across the city, including those situated at Kamara Bar off Blackhall Road, Metzger Street off Alpha Morlai, and Culvert at Kanikay, underscoring the Harbour Police Division’s commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes.
In a resolute statement, the Local Unit Commander, LUC Kpulun, vowed to continue the offensive until all drug dens within their jurisdiction are dismantled and perpetrators brought to justice.
He urged affected communities to collaborate closely with law enforcement in combating drug abuse.
The suspects, along with the confiscated narcotics, are currently in police custody pending further investigation.
The successful operation stands as a testament to the Harbour Police Division’s unwavering dedication to maintaining law and order, while sending a clear message to drug traffickers that their illicit activities will not be tolerated.
