Bonthe Island, 4th November, 2026 – Shock gripped residents of Bonthe Island after police arrested a man for allegedly digging up a decomposed body from its grave.
The suspect, Amara Kamara, a resident of Bonthe Island, was arrested on Wednesday, 4th November, 2026 by the Sierra Leone Police.
Police say Kamara allegedly exhumed the decomposed remains and removed the burial shroud used to wrap the deceased.
The suspect is currently in police custody together with the recovered exhibit, the shroud, as investigations continue.
The police have not yet disclosed the motive behind the alleged act.
