At a time when the State is asking citizens to pray for God’s intervention to address our difficulties, here are our elected officials still conniving with a Chinese company to add more suffering on the people with a new Tollgate Tariff.
Honorable Bashiru Silikie, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Works and Public Assets, laid a report in Parliament yesterday with a new increase on the Tollgate which was approved.
I keep saying our political class doesn’t care about the economic challenges all of us are going through. They would rather side with an investor than the citizens who are finding it difficult to even have something to eat and take care of their families.
This is being done by the ruling SLPP and main opposition APC Members of Parliament, the people who promised to ensure that they do things that will make our lives better.
The opposition which boycotted Parliament some time ago is now sitting very comfortably and enjoying what the Committees come with and the International trips.
They don’t care about us, they’ve never been and will never be. It’s about protecting those they are benefiting from. Otherwise, no one will increase anything at this time that will directly affect the people.
But again, we will complain on social media and move on like nothing has happened which is why our politicians always take us for granted.
