Freetown, March 18, 2025 – Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Sierra Leone for an official visit aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two West African nations.
The visit will focus on enhancing trade, infrastructure development, and regional collaboration.
According to Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President Mahama, discussions between the two leaders will cover key areas of mutual interest, including economic partnerships and social infrastructure.
Ghana and Sierra Leone share a long history of cooperation, marked by solidarity in times of crisis and joint efforts in regional development. In January 2025, Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio attended President Mahama’s inauguration in Accra, further underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.
As key members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), both countries play a vital role in promoting regional stability and economic growth.
President Mahama’s visit is expected to reinforce these efforts, fostering greater collaboration for the advancement of West Africa.
