Sierra Leone’s national football team head coach, Amidu Karim, has unveiled his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers.
The Leone Stars are set to face Chad on September 6th in Liberia, followed by an away match against Zambia on September 10th.
Coach Karim expressed confidence in his team’s progress, emphasizing the importance of recent friendly matches due to the players’ limited game time since the end of the local league. The Leone Stars have already faced the Under-20 squad and are planning another friendly against Wilberforce to fine-tune their preparations.
The coach acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Authority (NSA), and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), describing their contributions as vital to the team’s readiness.
He also urged Sierra Leoneans to continue rallying behind the national team, highlighting the significance of their support in the crucial match against Chad.
“Your support would mean a lot on September 6th in Liberia,” Karim stated.
