Abdul Kadiru Kaikai has been released on bail following his arrest for making statements deemed threatening to national peace.
His arrest occurred days after a video surfaced showing Kaikai making inflammatory remarks, which quickly went viral and triggered significant public concern.
The video, recorded in the local Krio language, captured Kaikai stating, “If I am not given the flagbearer position in the Sierra Leone People’s Party, I will wage war in this country, and it will be worse than the last one.”
Following the backlash, Kaikai issued an apology for his comments.
The Sierra Leone police have since granted him bail, but the incident has sparked a broader conversation about political rhetoric and stability in the country.
