Freetown, 7th October 2023 – Rev. Shodanken Johnson, Chairman of the All People’s Congress Party (APC), has announced crucial dates for the mediation dialogue between the Sierra Leone Government and APC.
The dialogue, facilitated by the Commonwealth, the African Union (AU), and the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS), is set to take place in Freetown.
The mediation team is scheduled to arrive in Freetown during the week of 8th October 2023. Separate consultations with both the Government of Sierra Leone and the APC party will occur on Friday, 13th, and Saturday, 14th October 2023, with Sunday, 15th October, designated as a resting day.
The main Mediation Dialogue is slated to be held from Monday, 16th to Wednesday, 18th October 2023, starting at 9.00 am daily. The venue for this crucial dialogue will be the Ballroom of the Bintumani Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown. Participants are urged to be seated at 8.45 am daily to ensure punctuality, and an Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, 16th October 2023, at 9.00 am.
Access to the dialogue venue will be restricted to those who have been formally invited. Parties are requested to confirm their availability for participation in the dialogue on the specified dates and to provide the names of their negotiation team members.
