Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a significant diplomatic rendezvous, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone held a productive meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardi of South Sudan on November 11, 2023.
This encounter took place on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit.
During their discussions, the two leaders explored strategies to bolster both bilateral and diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and South Sudan.
President Bio seized the opportunity to share Sierra Leone’s valuable experiences in post-conflict peace-building, providing insights aimed at fostering enduring peace in South Sudan.
Underlining the strong foundation of their existing relationship, built on mutual benefit, both leaders expressed a shared commitment to elevate and fortify the partnership between their nations.
This meeting marks a pivotal step towards strengthened cooperation and collaboration between Sierra Leone and South Sudan.
