In a much-anticipated announcement, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, officially declared that the results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) 2023 will be unveiled today, Friday, October 27, 2023.
This announcement, disseminated via a Facebook post by Minister Sackey, has generated great enthusiasm among students and parents who have been eagerly awaiting these crucial results.
While there may be a slight delay in the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) in delivering the results to individual schools, candidates can swiftly access their scores online or through the MBSSE SMS result checker.
To stay up-to-date, students and their families can also tune in to the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) at 1:00 PM, where the BECE 2023 results will be officially revealed.
This year, in July and August, a total of 130,857 students took the 2023 BECE in Sierra Leone. The gender distribution of the candidates includes 63,750 (48.72%) males and 67,107 (51.28%) females.
The BECE, administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is a pivotal examination for third-year Junior High School students. It serves a dual purpose: determining eligibility for senior secondary education and certifying junior secondary education completion.
