Makeni, Sierra Leone – A devastating road accident occurred early this morning along the Makeni–Freetown highway, leaving multiple people feared dead.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash involved a passenger taxi traveling from Freetown to Makeni and another vehicle. The collision was so severe that none of the occupants of the taxi are believed to have survived.
Disturbing videos circulating on social media show several victims lying motionless at the scene, with bystanders expressing shock and grief.
In one widely shared clip, a commentator claimed that all passengers in the taxi had lost their lives. He urged families with loved ones who may have traveled along that route to urgently check on them.
The accident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the high number of fatalities recorded on Sierra Leone’s highways, especially the Freetown-Makeni highway.
