Justice Adrian Fischer has issued a stern warning against individuals allegedly involved in disrupting the internal electoral processes of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC), urging party leaders, including Osman Foday Yansanneh and Sidi Yaya Tunis, to caution members and supporters against acts capable of undermining the credibility and peaceful conduct of the party’s elections.
Justice Fischer emphasised that anyone brought before the court in connection with the disruption of APC electoral activities and subsequently found culpable could remain in custody until after the APC National Delegates Conference, subject to the applicable law and the court’s decision.
“I AM NOT JOKING, AND I AM SERIOUS!”
To ensure that his message reached everyone, Justice Fischer reportedly delivered part of his warning in Krio, underscoring the seriousness of his position on maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process.
He condemned alleged acts of intimidation, threats against political opponents, the destruction of ballot boxes, and the creation of chaos at polling centres, insisting that such behaviour must stop immediately.
According to Justice Fischer, democratic elections are about accepting both victory and defeat. He maintained that every aspirant and supporter must respect the electoral rules and allow the process to proceed without intimidation, violence, or deliberate disruption.
He further stressed that he would not hesitate to take appropriate legal action against anyone found responsible for undermining the electoral processes under his jurisdiction.
In a characteristically forceful remark, Justice Fischer declared that he is prepared to confront anyone determined to create trouble, making it clear that he would not be intimidated by individuals seeking to disrupt the process.
His message was unequivocal: APC internal elections must be conducted peacefully, fairly, and in accordance with the law.
