The Government of Sierra Leone has officially launched a new digital platform for the processing of Resident and Work Permits, effective 1 January 2026.
From this date, all applications and renewals for Resident and Work Permits will be conducted exclusively online, marking a major shift from the manual system to a fully digital process.
Authorities say the platform is designed to improve efficiency, transparency and service delivery, allowing applicants to submit applications online, track the status of their requests in real time, and receive faster processing.
All non-nationals living and working in Sierra Leone are required to use the new platform to apply for or renew their permits, as in-person submissions will no longer be accepted.
The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to modernise public services and streamline immigration and labour administration in the country.
