Bo, Sierra Leone – May 22, 2024 — A rapid response by the Sierra Leone Police has led to the arrest of two individuals in connection with a reported robbery along the Bo–Kenema Highway near Sidikie Lane, Bo City.
The incident, which took place on Thursday, May 22, involved the robbery of a woman identified as Madam Mariama Jeneba Jayah, a resident of Mendewa Layout. She reported the matter shortly after it occurred, prompting an immediate response from officers of the Bo East Division.
In a swift, intelligence-led operation, police apprehended two suspects — Alusine Maroof Kanu and Gabriel Turay — both of Namya Section in Bo. The suspects were later handed over to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) South for further investigation.
Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, praised the Bo East Division for their professionalism and rapid response.
He highlighted the arrests as a testament to the growing efficiency and public-centered approach of the police force in the Southern Region.
“Our officers’ quick reaction and courage in this case reflect the values of a modern, service-driven police force,” AIG Kanneh noted.
