Bonthe District, Sierra Leone – A deadly altercation in Bonthe over the weekend has left one man dead and a community searching for answers.
According to local sources, a heated argument between two colleagues took a fatal turn when one of them allegedly rushed home, returned with a sharp object, and stabbed the other near the chest. The victim died almost instantly from the injury.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue into the exact circumstances of the incident.
The deceased’s body was initially moved to Bo and is scheduled for transfer to Freetown for an autopsy. However, the process has been delayed due to financial constraints faced by the family. As of Monday, the body remains at the Bo Government Hospital mortuary.
Distraught relatives are appealing for justice and support, lamenting the tragic and abrupt loss of their loved one. They are calling on authorities to ensure that the matter is properly investigated and that justice is served.
Police say they are continuing their inquiries and will provide updates as the case progresses.
