The Sierra Leone U-19 volleyball team has triumphed at the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) U-19 African Men’s Championship held in Ivory Coast, emerging as the tournament champions.
In an electrifying grand finale, Sierra Leone defeated the Ghana U-19 team by a commanding 2 sets to nil, with scores of 21-13 and 21-11.
The championship, hosted in Ivory Coast, saw participation from nine African countries, including the hosts Ivory Coast, as well as Gambia, Congo, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Namibia, and Benin.
Sierra Leone’s journey to the top was marked by exceptional teamwork, strategic play, and relentless determination.
Sierra Leone’s victory has earned them the prestigious gold medal, while Ghana, as the runner-up, took home the silver medal.
The tournament showcased the rising talent in African volleyball and highlighted the competitive spirit and skill of the young athletes.
