Magistrate Isata Sellu-Tucker has remanded Nine (9) accused persons at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre for Unlawful Procession and also Behaving in a Riotous Manner.
Out of the Nine accused persons, eight are on a separate file prosecuted by PC 18235 Thoronka. The one is on another file prosecuted by the Assistant Superintendent of Police, A.S. Sannoh.
The Nine accused persons appeared before the Court to answer to three counts of Unlawful Procession contrary to section 17 (3) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1964; Riotous Conduct, contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and Disorderly Behaviour, contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No. 15 of 1973.
According to the particulars of offence, the Nine accused persons on the 11th day of September, 2023 at the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit, Unlawful Procession without lawful authority.
Magistrate Isata Sellu-Tucker refused bail and adjourned the matter to the 22nd September, 2023.
